Embry-Riddle dropped a Cal Pac game 79-55 to Benedictine Mesa on Thursday evening in the Activity Center.
ERAU held a 7-0 lead early as Dennis Pomazanov (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) made two layups and Christmas Togiai, Jr. (Kapolei, Hawaii) made a layup and a free throw. BenU scored the next six points before Demari Hackett (Surprise, Ariz.) made a layup with 12:46 left in the half to give the Eagles a 9-6 lead. The teams traded baskets and Pomazanov tied the game with another layup at 16-16 with 10:14 to go in the first half. The Redhawks scored the next six points to take the lead and went into the half up by nine with the score 31-22.
Togiai, Jr. scored four points to start the second half, but then the Redhawks used another run to go up by 12. With 14:55 left in the game, BenU stretched their lead to 17 before Hackett made a layup. Jake Klingler (Gilbert, Ariz.) and Gabe Estebanes made back to back three point shots at the end of the game for the Eagles.
Pomazanov led Embry-Riddle with 13 points, Hackett added 11, and Conner Ivy (Phoenix, Ariz.) finished the night with 10.
ERAU is home again on December 19th with Dordt comes to town for a 5:30 tip off in the Activity Center.
